Hang Gliding observations from
Trent Brown - an average comp pilot from Canberra, Australia.
If you notice me online, jump on the UHF below and give me a call.
Last Friday I took off up to Newcastle. It seems no one else from Canberra wanted to fly – oh well
As well as Mon and Scott’s amazing hospitality, I was treated to some fun airtime in the moderate SW winds.
Glennies was the call on each day and did not disappoint. With no less than 10 people keen for a fly on each day we would meet at Singleton before heading on to the hill.
After a futile wait for the wind to subside, those in the higher performance wings launch anyway. We are treated to some great climbs of up the 1500fpm (amazing for the middle of winter). The unique contours of the area also set up a line of conference lift heading out across the lake. We punch forward in gaggles as we try to reach the range on the other side of the lake. I think Stewie managed to get the closest.
Thanks Scott and Mon for putting me up for the weekend – Mon’s cooking is worth the drive in itself. Just steer clear of any Austin Powers movies while hooking in to the sticky date pudding.
Thanks for the weekend everyone!

After making it this far up the precarious drive, a little landslide over the track was not going to keep us from reaching the top
What a close race! Congrats Andrew L on your first win!
350km and less than a few minutes between the finishers.
By popular demand I will post the condor flight tracks when I find somewhere to host them. I the mean time I will post them to the mailing list.
